We had a User Summit in DC!

Every year, we bring customers, partners and our team together for a lot of fun and learning!! This year, we did it in Chevy Chase, MD, in the beautiful Microsoft offices. I’m always delighted to see our new and long term customers who spend most of their day with us. We had four themes!

Theme 1

Learn something new. This year, we had a presentation on Power BI, a component of Office 365. A free version is part of the Office 365 suite and for a $10 monthly fee, the full version is available. Think graphical presentation of your data, with easy connections to your databases and easy creation of graphic images. GP users can use the pre-built Power BI connector and be immediately successful to show graphic GP data.  It was one of the favorite sessions.

Theme 2

Learn something outside of Accounting. Patrick Stump, President of Roka Security gave a talk at lunch on how to avoid Ransomware. After the recent ‘WannaCry’ scare, the topic was timely. Patrick explained how infection happens, how to prevent infection, and what to do if you get infected.  Great stuff and his talk was top-ranked by our attendees. www.rokasecurity.com. One of the best Cyber Security firms in DC area! Did I mention that Patrick is my neighbor?

Theme 3

Be more Efficient! We had vendor partners from Avalara (Sales Tax Automation), Kwiktag (Imaging), Plus Consulting (Office 365 and Power BI), Liaison Software (Electronic Document Distribution), Solver (Business Intelligence), PN3 (AP Automation), Plumbline Consulting (Business Management) and ADP Total Source (everything payroll and HR). Some partners gave presentations and everyone gave away bling!

Theme 4

Have fun! Our vendor partners all give out gift cards (one or two at $100), and SSi gave away prizes ranging from brief cases to Despicable Me flash drives. One lucky winner won a laptop and everyone got a $5 Starbucks card.

Every year, our users come to our events. Our team loves the event, customers give us rave reviews and our partners have a rare opportunity to see how to leverage their software to be more productive.  Can’t wait for next year!!

Do you offer user events? If so, let me know how yours look. I’d love to hear from you.
